Project Chamberlin
Parishes Served: West Baton RougeProject Chamberlin will be a partnership with Devall Middle School students (grades 6-8) who will tutor Chamberlin elementary School students in grades (K-3) in reading, math, computer lab and library skills on a daily basis. Project Chamberlin will also allow Devall Middle School students (grades 6-8) to partner with and mentor Chamberlin Elementary School students in the design, construction and use of an outdoor classroom and school-wide beautification project. The outdoor classroom will contain gardening boxes, butterfly gardens, a refurbished pond, a seating area, and informational display. The beautification project will consist of student design and decision making in choosing shrubs, plants, and flowers. The outdoor classroom project will also be overseen by Baton Rouge Community College students from the Landscape and Design Department.
