Disaster Preparedness

Volunteer Louisiana is one of 20 states that leverage the Volunteer Generation Fund through the federal agency AmeriCorps to enable Louisianans to give back through citizen service.

Through this funding, we provide disaster preparedness and response trainings, including Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) trainings. CERT volunteers form local teams that increase the capacity of emergency management officials.
