Number of Members: 72 Full Time Members
City Year unites young people of all backgrounds, ages 17-24, for a demanding year of full-time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world. Corps Members in their signature jackets, address community needs, by serving in schools as tutors, mentors, and role models, organizing after school programs and school vacation camps, and also building playgrounds and reclaiming public spaces.
City Year Louisiana serves the community through campuses in two cities, New Orleans and Baton Rouge. Corps members provide on going “out of school” activity programs, in-class academic assistance, teacher support, and leadership in creating positive school climates.
